We’ll be kicking off our five-day birthday festival this Sunday with thirty-four hours of Wayne Shorter, celebrating his 80th birthday from 2pm, on Sunday August 25th until midnight, August 26th. Active since the late 1950s, saxophonist and composer Shorter bears a career that spans over multiple decades, marked by tenures with Art Blakey, Miles Davis, and Weather Report.

One of the greatest living jazz composers today, many of Shorter's compositions -- including "Footprints," "Nefertiti," and "E. S. P." -- have become jazz standards. Tune in to hear everything from his master works, including "Juju" and "Speak No Evil," to his compositional works played by his contemporaries and more.
