This Week in the Jazz Department: Ellery Eskelin on the Musician's Show!
Submitted by Kevin "(the) Magu... on Tue, 27 Sep 2011, 4:55pm
Join us on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm to hear tenor saxophonist Ellery Eskelin live in studio spinning the records of his favorite tenor players from the '20s and beyond.
The historical focus of the show ties in with Eskelin's new record, "Trio New York" (featuring Gary Versace on organ and Gerald Cleaver on drums) where the group ably pursues extended meditations on five classic songs. Be sure to tune in to hear great music and a great artist discuss what jazz saxophone heritage means to him.
