Freedom School

ICH residents created Freedom School to provide an environment for students to critically engage material and texts not explored in traditional classroom settings.  This informal discussion group is modeled after “Freedom Schools” of the 1960s and material covered in the group focuses on a variety of social justice issues.  Freedom School is student run and includes a combination of small group discussions and trips to different sites throughout New York City.
