The MENA program focuses on the languages, history and culture of the Maghreb region and its relations with the Middle East and Europe. Linking disciplines, the program gives students the opportunity to develop the linguistic skills and background knowledge necessary to conduct cross-regional projects and interrogate geo-cultural boundaries. Based in both Amman (June) and Paris (July), students on the program take the equivalent of one year of a Modern Standard Arabic language course (1st through 4th year offered).

February 5, 2015 - 5:04pm

Based in the capital city of Amman at the Columbia Global Center, this program provides intensive Arabic language training and introduces Jordanian and Arab culture and customs to highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students. Students enroll in a Modern Standard Arabic course at the appropriate level (1st through 4th year offered) and meet regularly with language tutors. Jordanian/Levantine Arabic is integrated in a daily conversation hour.
