Davis Projects for Peace

The Davis Projects for Peace is an initiative funded by Kathryn W. Davis for undergraduate students to design and implement their own grassroots projects to take place during the summer months.  Individual students or groups of students are invited to submit innovative and engaging proposals for projects focused on conflict resolution and the breaking down of barriers to peace.

  • While the overall program is worldwide in scope, individual projects may be carried out in any location, including the United States.
  • It is intentional that no clear definition is given for 'projects for peace' - the program organizers hope to encourage creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship focusing on conflict resolution, reconciliation, building understanding and breaking down barriers which cause conflict, and finding solutions for resolving conflict and maintaining peace.
  • Selected projects will receive $10,000 in funding.

For full information about the program and to read about past projects, visit the Davis Projects for Peace website. We highly recommend reading through the Davis web site in advance of submitting your application so that you are fully informed about the program and application guidelines.

We will begin accepting submissions for summer 2015 in November 2014. The deadline for submissions is January 22nd, 2015.

Note that student contact with the Davis UWC Scholars office is PROHIBITED.  Alternatively, please email Walter Rodriguez in Student Engagement.
