Principled Action
Andrei Coman is a Computer Science student at Columbia Engineering. Driven by a strong commitment to teaching and a belief in curiosity, innovation and collaboration, he has dedicated much of his time at Columbia to fostering those attitudes in the classroom. In the past four years, he has served as a Teaching Assistant for eleven course offerings in the Computer Science Department, and has been involved in several mentorship initiatives with the Tau Beta Pi Honor Society. Through his service, he hopes to have supported his fellow students’ passion for learning, and to have highlighted the importance of giving back by teaching. Andrei’s interests in algorithm design and performance optimization have also led him to explore applications of Computer Science in both Software Engineering and academic research, within the Departments of Computer Science and Civil Engineering. In the future, he wants to pursue a career as a Computer Science Professor.
I want to thank my professors, classmates, friends, and family for all their support. I am especially grateful to Cristian Francu, who started me on this journey, and to Angela Yu, who pushed me to better myself every step of the way.
