Cenker is being recognized for his efforts as a student leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion-related policy and event work. With a passion for intersectional inclusion and advocacy, he serves as a Multicultural Affairs Student Coordinator, chairs Columbia College Student Council’s Inclusion and Diversity task force as the council’s Vice President for Equity, co-chairs the International Student Advisory Board, coordinates the Global Ambassador Program, co-chairs Undergraduate Admissions’ Global Recruitment Committee, and served as an Under1Roof Facilitator for NSOP 2023. He is also a 2024 recipient of Columbia’s Social Justice Mini-Grant. Under these roles, he advises Columbia offices on how to better serve the needs of marginalized communities on campus. Whether through his extracurriculars or through his ongoing psychology thesis research on the dynamics of identity-based intergroup perception, he is dedicated to understanding and creating equitable spaces where communities are not only formed, but also thrive.
Endless thanks to my dear friends and wonderful family, who are always by my side. Special thanks to my second family in the Multicultural Affairs office for supporting me as I discovered my passion for inclusion and advocacy.
