Health and Wellness
As an EMT for Columbia University Emergency Medical Service (CUEMS) since 2022, Michelle Aude has exhibited sincere dedication to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the Columbia community. As a Crew Chief, she mentors and trains new EMTs, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care. During her term as Director of CUEMS in 2023, Michelle served as the highest-ranking member of the corps, working directly with Columbia Health and the Department of Public Safety to ensure smooth operations and effective continuation of service. In this capacity, she successfully coordinated multi-team emergency medical responses for Bacchanal and Commencement, establishing a valuable model for managing medical emergencies in large-scale gatherings on campus. Additionally, Michelle works as an undergraduate researcher in the Smeeton Lab, focusing on translating research findings towards developing regenerative treatments for patients suffering from osteoarthritis or traumatic joint injury.
I would like to thank my family, friends, and mentors for their guidance and encouragement during the past year and my time at Columbia. I would also love to thank my fellow EMTs (past and present) for their support. I wouldn't be here without you all!
