Columbia Spirit
Ryan is being recognized for his dedication to a wide array of extracurricular activities, including CU Swing Dance, Columbia Games Club, Columbia Esports, the Group of Language-Oriented Thinkers (GLOT), and the Columbia University Performing Arts League (CUPAL). He has held leadership positions in all of these, but he is just proud to have shared his passion for them with others.
Ryan has always had diverse interests, and his recognition for Columbia Spirit comes from his ability to pursue them all not in spite of, but because of the school he attends. As a transfer student, he is even more confident that he made the right choice, and he is happy reflecting on all the opportunities Columbia has given him.
I am forever grateful to my father John for the incredible strength he instilled in me in the face of life’s struggles. I cannot thank enough Gary, Betsy, and Dave Cole, without whose support I would not have been able to attend Columbia. My sister Maya, with me through thick and thin, holds a permanent place in my heart.
And thank you to my mother Jennifer, who taught me never to say no to myself.
