Wildlife Medicine Internships at The Center are variable in length and are free of charge. Housing is available on a very limited basis for a fee of $50.00 a week. The Center treats approximately 3,000-5,000 native and naturalized wild animals representing 225 species per year. Student interns perform as the primary work force of the Center. They are responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of a nonprofit wildlife animal hospital. All skills are taught to the students by full-time, on staff veterinarians, a certified veterinary technician, an office manager and a resource development officer

Eligibility: 
1. You must be at least 17 years old. 2. You must have insurance. (If you have no insurance we will be unable to consider you for an internship.) 3. You must provide proof of being pre-vaccinated for Rabies. (Rabies vaccinations are not required to apply for the internship but, if you are accepted into the program, the series of shots must be completed prior to your start date) 4. You must provide proof of being pre-vaccinated for Tetanus. (Tetanus vaccinations are not required to apply for the internship but, if accepted into the program, you must receive the shot before your start date)
