Summer Bridge Program Help Room Tutor Application

Prior to fall enrollment, entering first-year program participants attend a mandatory five-week Summer Bridge Program offered through Academic Success Programs. Participants take courses in Calculus, Statistics, University Writing, Literature Humanities, Physics, Psychology, and Chemistry to prepare for the academic work required of Columbia students.

ASP Summer Bridge Program Travel Needs

A member of our staff will coordinate round-trip travel arrangements for students who live outside of the tri-state area. Please review our ASP travel arrangements and guidelines, and let us know if you have questions regarding travel arrangements. ASP Volunteer Challenge

Thank you for participating in the ASP Volunteer Challenge.  Examples of volunteer service can include time providing service to a non-profit organization, participating in a charity event (i.e. walkathon) or providing service to the community.  No matter where you volunteer, we admire your dedication to service and volunteerism.  Please enter your volunteer activity below.

It is required for all Summer Bridge participants to bring their Health Insurance ID Card.

What will my class schedule be like?

Classes will be taught by our experienced instructors in person. Monday–Friday during the program, Columbia College students will take introductory courses in Literature Humanities, University Writing, Psychology and Calculus or Statistics. Columbia Engineering students will take Chemistry, Physics, Calculus and University Writing.

Can I attend an event or work during the Summer Bridge Program?

The Summer Bridge Program is a requirement to your admission agreement. We ask that you have no prior commitments during the Summer Bridge Program. There is a full itinerary for the weekdays, as well as every weekend.

Yes, you are required to have a Zoom account to attend some workshops and tutoring sessions. Please sign up for a free Zoom account.

Will I be given a grade or credit for participating in the Summer Bridge Program?

Since this is an enrichment program, you will not receive grades or credits for the summer courses. However, there will be a written evaluation shared with each student at the conclusion of the Summer Bridge Program that will review strengths and growth areas.

ASP End of Semester Event

Please share any fun photos of you and/or your friends to be featured on our slide show* at the ASP End of the Semester Event!  Photos should contain at least one ASP student and may include students who are not in ASP.  Upload photos with a caption from your group outing, volunteer activities, travels, adventures, studying, or even Thanksgiving.
