Dean Kromm grew up in West Springfield, MA and holds a B.A. from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and M.S.W. from New York University. Currently, Dean Kromm oversees Multicultural Affairs, Residential Life and Student Engagement. She began at Columbia in 2006 as director of residential life. In 2012, she began supervision of fraternity and sorority life. Connect with her to share ideas about any of these areas.

Throughout her experiences at Columbia, Cristen has worked tirelessly to create connections between students and administrators: establishing advisory boards, co-creating Responsible Community at Columbia (RC@C) with Alice! Health Promotion and attending student and community events. Dean Kromm also advises Nightline, a peer listening hotline. Her professional background includes residence life and leadership oversight at SUNY Stony Brook and Barnard College. She is always open to conversation, respectful criticism and scheduling individual conversations and group meetings.
