This week's installment of Saturday Night at the Opera is a rare opportunity to hear a work seldom performed outside its native Russia, Rimsky-Korsakov's "Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh." Although it is an extremely difficult opera to stage, "Kitezh" stands as Rimsky-Korsakov's monumental achievement, a dazzling display of a composer's genius. Valery Gergiev conducts a searing rendition featuring the great soprano Galina Gorchakova in her prime. Stepan Atamian hosts.
