Celebrating Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau on Thursday Afternoon Classical

Thursday's Afternoon Classical will be dedicated exclusively to the renowned German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, in celebration of his birthday. Born on May 28, 1925 in Berlin, Germany, the late Fischer-Dieskau would have turned 90 on this day. An incredibly talented, versatile performer, Fischer-Dieskau brought his clear and iconic sound to a wide range of operas, lieder, oratorios, song cycles, and more in a myriad of languages and styles. We will listen to some of his greatest recordings, focusing primarily on lieder and song cycles for which Fischer-Dieskau is best remembered. Please join us as we celebrate Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's 90th birthday and his extraordinary contributions to classical music on Afternoon Classical, Thursday May 28th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
