Leila Bordreuil is a Brooklyn based cellist, composer and sound artist from Aix-en-Provence, France. Improvised style which focuses on texture variations, phantom overtones and pitched utterances. She has developed a vocabulary of extended techniques and amplification methods, using her instrument as an abstract resonant body and thereby challenging the conventional cello practice.

Since moving to Brooklyn in 2012, Leila has maintained an active concert schedule performing with Marina Rosenfeld, Anthony Coleman, Tamio Shiraishi, Chris Corsano, Eli Keszler, Tom Chiu (Flux Quartet), Richard Teitlebaum (Musica Elettronica Viva), Peter Evans, Richard Garet, Weasel Walter, Chris Pitsiokos, Lea Bertucci, and Michael Foster among many others. Notable venues where she has performed include the Whitney Museum, The Kitchen, Issue Project Room, Roulette, The Stone, Moma Ps1, the Performa Biennale, Pioneer Works and Ftarri (Tokyo, JP).
