Marc Ribot, Cooper-Moore, and Chad Taylor on Afternoon New Music

Tune in to Afternoon New Music at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 6 to hear three exclusive, back-to-back interviews with Marc Ribot, Cooper-Moore and Chad Taylor in anticipation of their performances at the upcoming Vision Festival. Topics of discussion will include the influence of jazz musician Henry Grimes, whose achievements will be celebrated at the festival, what it’s like to be a part of the Vision community, their own contributions to the Vision Festival and more.

NYC’s twenty-first Vision Festival, the Arts for Art organization’s annual celebration of free jazz, will feature approximately two hundred performers during the weeklong period of June 7-12. This year's festival is a celebration of the lifetime achievement of Henry Grimes, who is performing with both the Henry Grimes Quartet and the Henry Grimes Septet throughout the evening of Tuesday, June 7. Guitarist and composer Marc Ribot, who has previously performed with Henry Grimes on the group Spiritual Unity as well as the Marc Ribot Trio will be performing with the Henry Grimes Septet on Tuesday, June 7.

Cooper-Moore, jazz pianist and composer, will be performing on Thursday, June 9 with Garland of Blessing led by Kidd Jordan. He will also perform with the Cooper-Moore Quartet on the evening of Friday, June 10.

Drummer Chad Taylor, who has also previously performed with Henry Grimes on Spiritual Unity and the Marc Ribot Trio, will be performing with the Henry Grimes Septet on Tuesday, June 7. He will also play with the Steve Swell Quintet, Kende Dreams, on Thursday, June 9.
