Special Broadcast of Wagner's Parsifal on Saturday Night At The Opera

Saturday, March 26, 2016 - 9:00pm to Sunday, March 27, 2016 - 2:00am

For over thirty years, mezzo-soprano Waltraud Meier has taken the opera world by storm with the role of the mysterious Kundry in Richard Wagner's Parsifal. It is a role that she has arguably owned like no other singer to this day. This week, she sings her final performances of the role in Berlin, and, to mark the occasion, this year's annual Parsifal broadcast over Easter weekend will be a live 2005 performance from Vienna. Opposite her is superstar Placido Domingo in the title role, and Christian Thielemann conducts the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Tune in on Saturday March 26th for this special broadcast of Wagner's final opera from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM on Saturday Night At The Opera on WKCR 89.9 FM New York. Stepan Atamian hosts.
