Student Awards and Recognition

At the end of each academic year, Student Affairs recognizes students and student organizations with awards and honors for leadership, co-curricular accomplishments, and noteworthy contributions to the Columbia community.
The 2012-13 nomination period closed on Sunday, February 10th at 11:59pm.
The King's Crown Leadership Excellence Awards recognize undergraduate Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science students and student groups/organizations which have offered outstanding leadership to their community/ies with exemplary commitment and energy. Awards are presented across eight categories. A Certificate of Distinction for Leadership Excellence is awarded to up to ten individuals and ten organizations per category. A select few will receive the Dean's Award for Leadership Excellence. The award categories are as follows:
- Community Building
- Ethics & Morality
- Columbia Spirit
- Civic Responsibility
- Innovation & Enhancement
- Bridge Building
- Indelible Mark
- Health & Wellness
A full description of these categories may be found on our Awards Descriptions page. Submitted nominations will also serve to determine many recipients of our Named Awards, Class Day Awards & Senior Marshals.
Senior Marshals: Graduating CC and SEAS seniors can also be honored as a Senior Marshal and will lead their class procession into the Class Day and Commencement ceremonies.
