Special Interest Community Program
General Overview
Special Interest Communities offer a unique residential experience by allowing sophomores, juniors and seniors with a common interest to live together and explore a topic or theme through programming. This living arrangement creates opportunities for students to interact with each other and connect with faculty, administrators, alumni, and community leaders from NYC and beyond. SICs are advised by a faculty member whom they select and an assigned staff member from the Office of Residential Programs. The faculty advisor should be knowledgeable in the subject area and able to serve as a resource and sounding board. The Residential Programs staff member ensures that members are equipped with essential programming skills and serves as a link to the residential community.
